What is the JNUEE?

JNUEE is the All India Level Entrance Examination for admission to Jawaharlal Nehru University. JNUEE’s primary objective is to identify eligible applicants who possess the necessary ability and abilities to follow the course of their choosing at the University.

Candidates will be finalised based on their performance on a computer-based test for all programmes of study except M.Phil. and Ph.D. Candidates should appear for the Viva-voce examination as well for admission to the M.Phil. and Ph.D. programmes.

Who conducts the JNUEE?

JNUEE is administered by the National Testing Agency (NTA). It is a self-governing and renowned testing organisation that administers prestigious entrance examinations for admittance to higher education universities or institutions throughout the country. NTA was established in 1860 by the Government of India’s Ministry of Human Resource Development. NTA will be responsible for conducting the JNUEE from the beginning of 2019.

All about JNU

Jawaharlal Nehru University (JNU) is a New Delhi-based public central university. JNU is a top-tier University in India for postgraduate and research courses. The UGC has designated it as a ‘University of Excellence’ and the NAAC has recognised it with a ‘A’ grade. JNU is ranked second among India’s top institutions by NIRF 2021. JNU has recognised and accredited over 18 institutions in the fields of defence and research and development. It operates 13 schools, 55 centres, and seven special education facilities. 

At the moment, JNU offers approximately 100 courses at the undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral levels. Courses in the arts, sciences, computer applications, medicine, engineering, law, mass communication, and management are available. Additionally, JNU provides Certificate, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma programmes in a variety of languages. JNU Admission to undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral programmes is determined by the results of the JNU Entrance Examination.

What is the eligibility criteria?

Different JNUEE Eligibility Criteria are established for various degrees and programmes. Prior to submitting the application form, candidates must check that they meet all of the entrance examination’s eligibility requirements. The following criteria apply to the most popular JNU courses:

Age restriction:

The examination requires a minimum age of 17 years.

Candidates for the B.A. (Hons.) programme must be at least 17 years old on 1 October. No other programme has any age restriction.

Educational Qualification:

JNU Eligibility For B.A (Hons)

First-year candidates must achieve a minimum of 45 percent in their 10+2 examination to qualify for the entrance test. Candidates who are currently enrolled in a 10+2 programme can also apply.

JNU Eligibility For B.A (Hons)

2nd year Candidates must have earned a minimum of 45 percent in their first year of a bachelor’s degree from a recognised university.

JNU Eligibility For MA

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in any subject with a minimum of 50% marks under the 10+2+3 education pattern.

JNU MCA Eligibility

Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree (BCA/ B.Tech) in Mathematics with a minimum of 55% marks at the graduation level.

JNU M.Sc Eligibility

Candidates must hold a bachelor’s degree in physical, biological, or agricultural sciences with a minimum of 55%.

JNU M.Phil Eligibility

Candidates must hold a master’s degree in a related field with a minimum of 50% marks.

JNUEE Application Process

Step 1: Registration 

  • Candidates should provide their basic information and take note of the application number generated by the system.
  • One should enter the candidate’s name, mother’s name, and father’s name exactly as they appear on the Secondary School Examination or equivalent.
  • Enter your birth date as it appears on your Secondary School Examination or equivalent.
  • Provide your mobile phone number and email address.

Step 2: JNUEE Application form

  • Candidates must indicate the category they fall under, such as OBC or EWS.
  • Complete the mailing and postal address.
  • Candidates can choose up to four cities for the JNUEE examination.

Step 3: Scan and upload documents

  • Upload Scanned Photographs
  • Photograph: 10 kilobytes to 200 kilobytes
  • Signature: 4 kilobytes to 30 kilobytes

JNU Admit Card

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will assign the JNUEE admission card to applicants who have successfully registered for the examination.

The JNUEE admission card is a critical and required document that all candidates must carry along with a photo ID verification.

The JNUEE admit card contains the Candidate’s name, Roll number, Exam day and time, and examination location. Without the JNUEE 2022 admit card, the invigilator would not allow any applicant to enter the test venue. If a candidate discovers an error on his or her admission card, he or she should immediately notify the JNU authorities.

JNUEE Result

The National Testing Agency (NTA) will announce the JNU result for the Jawaharlal Nehru University entrance examination (JNUEE) for undergraduate and graduate degrees. Candidates who appeared for the JNUEE can see their results at jnuexams.nta.nic.in. The JNU result contains critical information such as the candidate’s name, gender, applied programme, father’s name, grades received in each subject, and roll number. The JNUEE result for 2022 will be announced following the application of appropriate percentile and normalisation methods. Candidates should be advised that in addition to the JNU results, a final key has been provided that integrates candidates’ objections. 1. Is there a negative marking system in Jnuee?

Ans. Applicants are expected to answer short answer questions in the form of paragraphs for a 100 marks question. There will be no negative markings.

2. Is the JNU Entrance examination hard to crack?

Ans. It’s more challenging for general category students because there are fewer places available. There are only about 30 to 45 seats available. In comparison to entrance exams at other colleges, the questions on the application are extremely conceptual and subjectively distorted. In order to be chosen you need to have through knowledge about the subject.

3. Is the use of a calculator permitted in the JNUEE?
